Well, to quote Jakob Dylan, “You just develop a language that works for you, and images that appeal to you” (as cited in Greiving, T. (2021 July). Jakob Dylan has always been part cowboy-troubadour, part rabbi).
And needless to say, this image of red mountains (or rivers) in the foreground and background greatly appealed, and was the backdrop to continue to explore patterns in nature during 2018-19. With inspiration from Gustav Klimt’s The Tree of Life, the intertwined vines and branches, and overlapping leaves and flowers, provided freedom to uninhibitedly create line and pattern, resulting in ‘tangled’ red and blue compositions, or webs of life.
